Clifton Biography

Brief DescriptionClifton is a legendary poet, musician, historian, and mayor. He uses a pan flute to create inspiring music and a quill to write poems recounting the epic tales of his adventuring party, Morrow’s Morn, as well as scathing takedowns of the corrupt. He's sassy, passionate, resilient, bougie, and altogether a driven leader. If there's someone in need, he'll be there to help, after which he’ll share the story for years to come.Early LifeFor Clifton’s entire youth, he was raised to become a fine hero of the Sword Coast. He was born under the noble and affluent Beramin name in Waterdeep. His human mother Amelia did not have much of a hand in his childhood as she had married his father for his wealth. His father, a revered elf named Ferdinand, wished for Clifton to follow in the tradition of Beramin fencing. Clifton, however, was not one for scrapping on the front lines with a rapier in hand. He instead was drawn to the magic of the arts. When his father would take him on hunts on royal grounds, he found his niche in physical weaponry: the hand crossbow. That was not enough for Ferdinand, and so it was decided that Clifton would spend the summers of his teen years up north with his Uncle Henrik in Ten-Towns. Though it was meant to punish Clifton for his softness, it instead became an opportunity to learn about civilization outside the walls of nobility. In those summer months, through the still-frigid weather of Icewind Dale, he met a great listener in Tael and a great tinkerer named Malcolm. They helped him learn the area and hone in on his skill as a marksman, respectively.By the time he turned 16, he had already learned many of the stories of the Dale and decided to publish his first collection of poetry regaling those stories. ”The Howling Winds of Icewind Dale” launched Clifton’s meteoric rise into the public eye of Waterdeep. It was a bestseller! Clifton’s escape from the hustle and bustle of the city became the escape for all.Ferdinand’s tune changed overnight. Seeing the possible reach of Clifton’s writing and the influence that it could result in, he immediately enrolled his son in the Academy of Fine Arts in Waterdeep. Clifton began his path to becoming a bard. There, he learned spellcasting, began playing the pan flute, and deepened his understanding of poetry. Clifton even leaned into his skill with the crossbow, learning how to weave accurate shots between spells.Clifton graduated at 20 with additional bestsellers under his belt and was immediately plunged into the complex games of Waterdeep’s nobility. His father tasked him with climbing the ladder with the popularity of his poetry, pan flute skills, and smooth talking. Unfortunately, Clifton was too good at that task. Over the course of 5 years, he learned far more than he ever bargained for; the information was sickening. The aristocracy of Waterdeep has a deep-rooted issue of devil worship. Many had made deals with the Lord of Lies himself: Asmodeus. Clifton had a choice to make: play his part by ignoring the seedy underbelly of Waterdeep’s nobility, or speak out. Under the pen name Silver Sharpe, he chose the second option and published ”The Thin Veneer of Waterdeep”. This publication, his last and most monumentally successful in Waterdeep, exposed the elite for their crimes. In his naivety, Clifton thought the pen name would be enough to guard him from the ramifications of the publication. It was not.Clifton made a wealth of enemies instantly, and even with the looming threat of an attempt on his life, he thought he could weather the storm. Ferdinand felt differently. The Beramin legacy he had spent years building was in jeopardy. He decided to disown his son until he could prove his heroism in the “right way.” In shame, Clifton left Waterdeep with a miniscule coin purse, his crossbow, his pan flute, and the clothes on his back. At the age of 25, he decided to head back to the only place he ever felt true freedom with no strings attached: Ten-Towns in Icewind Dale.

Morrow's MornAny historian would tell you that years worth of history can happen in mere months. Clifton’s return to Icewind Dale was a shining example of that. He arrived at his Uncle Henrik’s house a disowned and disgraced nobody, but in the next 77 days, he would once again rise like the sun. Sadly, he found out on his arrival that the sun had not risen in Icewind Dale for years. His uncle had moved back south to Waterdeep in the months that Clifton spent traveling north, citing the permanent overcast darkness that swept the land and the growing power of an entity called the Frostmaiden.Luckily, with this foreboding news came a letter. His old friend Tael needed help with something, and Clifton was just in time. He met with Tael the information-selling tiefling, his other old friend Malcolm the tinkering white dragonborn, and two people he had not yet met: Revyan the human healer and the drow fighter Ash.The help that Tael needed was in regards to a murder mystery. There were several people found dead from stab wounds caused by enchanted ice daggers. The connection between these victims was related to the culture of Ten-Towns. Since the Frostmaiden’s influence came over the region, each town of the ten sacrificed things to appease her. Some sacrificed food, some heat, and the biggest sacrificed members of the town. This was done via lottery, and all the victims were people that had found ways to remove their names from the lottery. All this information led Clifton’s new group across Ten-Towns, doing various odds and ends. They met Cora, a woman looking for her son Huarwar. They reunited Garrett and Keegan with the help of their loyal dog named Boy. Clifton, deep in the mines of Termalaine, discovered a psychic stone in the long-dead skull of a Mindflayer. These adventures led them to Sephek Kaltro. With a magical suggestion from Clifton, Sephek admitted to dishing out vigilante justice under the influence of the Frostmaiden. His eyes began to glow blue and he put up an incredible fight, but in the end he was slain. This was just the beginning of the Frostmaiden’s reach in Ten-Towns.The psychic stone that Clifton found began giving him nightmares, but he pushed through the exhaustion to the town of Caer-Dineval. There, the Black Swords were stationed. Huarwar was among them as a devotee, while the children Alassar and Maer were forced to work under the cult. Kadroth was their leader and he admitted that Levistus the Frozen Prince, a devil opposed to both the Frostmaiden and Asmodeus, was the deity that gave the cult of the Black Swords their power. He also knew of Clifton’s past opposition to Asmodeus.Clifton’s crew learned that the Duergar, a group of dwarves from the Underdark, were causing problems in Ten-Towns while hunting for a cursed mineral called chardalyn. They also learned that Xardorok Sunblight was the one leading this Duergar incursion. After seeing the white tiefling Avarice in the underground cistern of the Black Swords’ castle and rescuing the prisoners held within, the party rescued Alassar and Maer and left the estate. The party headed down to Easthaven, on of the largest town in Ten-Towns. Maer was reunited with her aunt and Alassar was given to Cora to care for. While here, they found one of Xardorok’s sons and he revealed that Asmodeus was giving them their instructions; the third deity that had their hand in the fate of Icewind Dale. The party took a quest to find some lost fishermen from Easthaven. Ash, being a fisherman himself, had personal stake in this. Sadly, they found a hag that had killed the fishermen and would soon claim another. Ash fell to her evil glare, and in desperation, the party fled. In the grief that followed, they agreed on a group name. They would henceforth be known as Morrow’s Morn, the party that was going to fight tooth and nail to bring tomorrow’s morning back to Icewind Dale. From there, they sought out a necromancer they had heard of. It turned out that Maer’s aunt was operating under a pseudonym and was actually a powerful wizard named Vellynne Harpell. She revived Ash, and after a quest to ensure the revival stuck, the party was good to continue. The only cost was the psychic stone, which lost all power to aid Ash. Its psychic influence stayed with Clifton though, manifesting within his magic.Next stop was a cabin where Morrow’s Morn heard a tinkerer created a machine that could dispel the eternal overcast weather and bring the sun back to Ten-Towns. It existed, but was unstable and incinerated Clifton, Tael, and Ash. However, it kept their souls intact, and with some clever tinkering, Malcolm brought them back. This was the power of the Summer Star, and the party used it to see the sun again. The Frostmaiden’s ire was drawn by this, though. She attacked and kidnapped Revyan, leaving Morrow’s Morn with just 4 members. After grieving this loss and not knowing what to do next, the group sought vengeance on the only thing they had access to right now: the hag that killed Ash. They dispatched her handily and took her cauldron, which could magically fill itself to the brim daily. They then visited a sunken spire in the snow nearby.Within, the party learned of the Netheril Empire, an ancient kingdom of flying cities that had crashed to the ground 2,000 years ago. This spire was a part of one of those cities, called Ythryn. They learned of the Phaerimm: evil spellcasting slug-like beings that sought the destruction of humanity and were being captured and studied by Ythryn. The party also met Dzann’s simulacrum there, who told them that he was a member of the Arcane Brotherhood. Their organization sent him, Vellynne Harpell, Avarice, and the likely-dead Nass Lantomir to investigate Icewind Dale and locate the fallen city Ythryn. His simulacrum melted once the information was shared and thus ended his story. After this, the party returned to the horrible Kadroth of the Black Swords in order to ask Avarice about the information we learned about her organization. He fell to Ash’s sword in order to free Caer-Dineval from the influence of his cult, after which Avarice assumed control of them and offered their help to take down the Duergar. The party assembled an army from all over Ten-Towns and marched south to take down Xardorok. On a scouting mission into Sunblight Fortress, the party saw a massive dragon made of chardalyn fly overhead toward Ten-Towns. They thought, perhaps, that they could stop this cursed creation by destroying a power source in the fortress. They were wrong. The party had to return to Ten-Towns before it could raze it. They fought the chardalyn dragon head-on after it ravaged most of the towns, taking it down after a grueling battle. After recuperating themselves and the towns, Morrow’s Morn and their army now marched for revenge. They stormed Sunlight Fortress, killing all except the Duergar allies they made within. Xardorok was killed, as well as the barbed devil that was the true mastermind behind the operation. Asmodeus’ influence was once more routed by Clifton. Grandolpha the Old, a reasonable Duergar, took control of the fortress and the party returned to Ten-Towns victorious.Morrow’s Morn was voted, as a group, the new mayors of Termalaine. It was the town Tael lived in and needed a lot of help rebuilding, and Morrow’s Morn was perfect for the job. Despite their successes, a corrupt mayor named Naerth commandeered their magical cauldron and would not return it. Ignoring this petty power play, the party celebrated their victories by visiting a tribe of half-giants for a tournament of games. On their way home, Revyan returned under the control of the Frostmaiden. Morrow’s Morn brought him to his home tribe, who healed him of this possession. With guidance from the white dragon Arveiaturace and Vellynne Harpell- the only Arcane Brotherhood member Morrow’s Morn could befriend- they rode the great whale Angajuk to the island of Solstice with her and her new apprentice, Maer. This frozen wasteland is where the Frostmaiden resided. Her curse over the lands of Icewind Dale required a spell that was cast daily. Though she was a deity, this ritual taxed her greatly enough to keep her in her mortal, weakened form.On the island, Morrow’s Morn gathered a ton of resources and learned a ton of information. They found a wealth of gold, powerful magic items, and even a silver dragon egg yet to hatch. Nass Lantomir was found frozen to death, Solstice used to belong to Frost Giants, and the Frostmaiden’s ultimate goals were to preserve, endure, isolate, and exert her cruelty. Icewind Dale was the target of these goals. As they left the island, though, Auril the Frostmaiden tried to stop them.In an epic three phase fight for the fate of Icewind Dale, Morrow’s Morn worked together to end her threat. Ash obliterated her first form, Clifton shattered her second, and Revyan ended her with flaming fists. The only thing that remained was her Divine Spark, which ascended back to the plane of the deities. While this was a resounding success, Morrow’s Morn was not done. On Solstice, they found the key to locating Ythryn, and within that city was a magical artifact that could permanently prevent the Frostmaiden from exerting her influence if she were to ever return: The Mythallar. They returned to Ten-Towns to find Clifton’s dad Ferdinand present. It was revealed that Ferdinand worked for an evil organization that operates in the shadows and seeks power. Clifton’s act of exposing the followers of Asmodeus in Waterdeep were more than just a dangerous situation for the Beramin legacy: it ran against his father’s wishes. Now, having heard of all of Clifton’s successes, Ferdinand would restore his status in the family under one condition. Clifton would become the sole ruler of Ten-Towns and answer to his father. To this, Clifton said no. He told his father to leave and never return, under threat of immediate execution. In the same breath, Clifton rejected the name Beramin and decided, in honor of his party, to take the name Morrow.Leaving with Ferdinand was Naerth, the one who stole their cauldron and sent it south. This meant that before the last leg of their adventure, Morrow’s Morn has eliminated all major threats within Ten-Towns. The only missing party were the Black Swords and Avarice, who had left while Morrow’s Morn was on Solstice. With every loose end tied up, they left for Ythryn.Morrow’s Morn vanquished all the monsters in their path and made it deep under a massive glacier to find Ythryn, the fallen sky city. In order to access the central spire and free the enormous Mythallar, they needed to perform a ritual. To discover the steps of the ritual, they had to visit each of eight towers representing the schools of magic and find each step. Morrow’s Morn did that, overcoming many obstacles on the way. After reuniting the High Enchanter and High necromancer of Ythryn, Clifton was granted the Crown of Timeless Body. This artifact made it so every year of biological aging the wearer underwent took 100 years, effectively increasing Clifton’s life by 10,000 years. With this and other powerful tools in tow, the party also faced down with Avarice and the Black Swords. Unfortunately, Huarwar died in the intense battle, unable to be freed from the clutches of the cult. Avarice was vanquished and Levistus’s plan to turn back time using the power of the city and free himself from his prison in the Nine Hells was stopped. Now Icewind Dale was free of the influence of all three deities that threatened it.Morrow’s Morn performed the Rite of the Arcane Octad, opening the main spire. Inside, they saved Vellynne’s life by curing her of her arcane blight. They then located the demi-lich Iriolarthas, the former leader and High Mage of Ythryn. His hubris led to the fall of the city, both because of the powerful artifacts he kept within the city and the Phaerimm evil he captured. Morrow’s Morn defeated the facsimile he left behind, and had their final threat to face. The Phaerimm were creatures that could multiply themselves with human hosts and were some of the most powerful spellcasters ever known. They also did not age, meaning the one that Iriolarthas captured was still imprisoned in the city. Morrow’s Morn located it and found that it has multiplied itself into 3 and also kept High Abjurer Taruth as a plaything to torture.Morrow’s Morn narrowly defeated the great evil, that if it had won, would infect the entire planet and eradicate humanity. The Phaerimm were why Asmodeus wanted control of the region, as he could use them for a complete reset on mortalkind. With this last world-ending threat eliminated, Morrow’s Morn claimed the Mythallar and returned to Ten-Towns knowing that every enemy to the safety of the Dale was neutralized. They used the Mythallar to control the weather, allowing the people of Ten-Towns to finally bask in the sun. In just 77 days, Morrow’s Morn’s purpose was fulfilled and history was changed for the better!Sole Mayor of TermalaineIn the months following their resounding win, Morrow’s Morn went their own ways. Malcolm allowed Maer to keep the silver dragon egg and went south to study wizardry, Tael felt his time in Ten-Towns was done and his information brokering would have better use elsewhere, Ash returned to the Underdark to avoid the sunlight that he was not accustomed to, and Revyan went south to experience something other than tribes and winter. That left Clifton as the lone mayor of Termalaine and defender against the Frostmaiden, who would return in a weakened state on the winter solstice. He published his poetry about his time with Morrow’s Morn and titled it ”Rhymes of the Frostmaiden” (Click to read the actual poems he wrote). He was inducted as a member of the Harpers- a secretive peacekeeping organization- along with the rest of Morrow’s Morn. He worked with the surviving High Abjurer Taruth and Vellyn Harpell to found the Ythryn Historical Society. He set up a museum to show off all the arcane and exotic things he collected over his journey. Over the course of a year, he established an owl communication network and a teleportation circle to connect Ten-Towns with the outside world.Termalaine was built into a bustling metropolis, the shining jewel of the north. Clifton gained the moniker “Clifton the Timeless” because of his unchanging appearance and vast power. He kept the Frostmaiden at bay while working with Maer, who was becoming an adult and now had a tiny silver wyrmling under her command. Clifton brought an unprecedented peace and prosperity to Termalaine and the surrounding Ten-Towns.During all of this, Clifton also published scathing takedowns of his father in Waterdeep. He detailed his father's nefarious tactics for gaining power in the city and in Icewind Dale. He also pointed out his father's complacency in regards to the cult of Asmodeus that used to operate in the city. Through his uncle Henrik, Clifton found out that his father lost all credibility and was ousted from high society, left to live out his remaining elven centuries as a recluse with little power. Clifton made sure to keep tabs on him through the Harpers; can't have his father enacting any revenge! After a year of his successful leadership, a band of half-giants entered the town hall. Morrow’s Morn had befriended some half-giants, and it turned out that in the years after they had saved Icewind Dale, word had spread. This group wanted to aid the surrounding areas and build trust between half-giants and all other humanoids. Clifton interviewed them as a façade, already knowing that he would agree to the help. The forest near Termalaine needed some hardy people to explore and defend it.The leader of this group of half-giants was a little shorter than the rest, but he had a boyish charm that captured Clifton instantly. This same half-giant seemed overjoyed at Clifton’s acceptance of their pledge for aid. He found every excuse he could to join them on their adventures, reliving the glory days of Morrow’s Morn and forming a new relationship. The rest, as you’ll find with most stories related to Clifton, is history.

Ezra Biography

Brief DescriptionEzra is a bright, cheery animal lover. Though he has a towering height to most, he's small in the world of half-giants. The markings on his face are there from birth and sacred to his people, designating the kind of person the half-giant will be. He's rather naïve to the dangers of the world, but that's mostly because he swats them aside with ease. His time spent with the Knights of the Grove prepared him for the world, but he still adheres to his key values. He'll never stand for injustice, even if fighting it impedes his own comfort and safety.Early LifeEzra was born to Maugal and Niria in the sizeable Astrakhan tribe of half-giants. The tribe lived in the Spine of the World, a mountain range home to many other half-giant tribes. They had a population of around 200, making them one of the biggest. When half-giants are born, they already have the sacred facial markings of their people. Those markings are like a fingerprint and more important than a name. They are also omens for the life of that half-giant. The culture of Ezra’s tribe was incredibly competitive. They valued strength and combat prowess. Ezra, on the other hand, was not very focused on winning. Just like the omen divined from the arch and circle on his forehead, he was drawn to caring for others, especially animals, from a young age. While half-giants his age were sparring in preparation for battles with other tribes, Ezra was busy feeding the small foxes that lived behind his family’s home. The only person that ever understood Ezra as a child was the human merchant that would visit the tribe every few months, Ovi Boundsman. She was from a family of bookbinders, so along with food and weaponry, she sold historical texts. Ezra was drawn to these; the only connection he had to the outside world. These texts taught Ezra of Saint Aeron, a fabled hero from the south that fought for nature and slayed dragons to protect it.However, the fun Ovi would bring didn’t last. When Maugal found one such text, he confiscated them all and forbade Ezra from seeing Ovi again. He was forced to focus on combat training, despite his wishes. His father made sure Ezra followed his commands, whether by word or whip. This lasted until one night when a bunch of wild animals stormed the tribe in search of food. Even the half-giants of Astrakhan knew to respect nature, so they were unsure whether to fight or flee. Ezra, on the other hand, stood his ground and was able to reroute the animals out of the town with minimal loss to the tribe’s food supply. From that day on, Ezra became the Animal Whisperer of Astrakhan. Not all was fixed, though. Soon after that, a darkness descended on the land to the north and stretched out across the Spine of the World, stopping near Astrakhan. Some foul deity was making some move on Icewind Dale. That wasn’t the most pressing issue for Ezra, though, for the issues with animals around his tribe continued. In time, Ezra found out why the animals were encroaching on their town. Raiders to the south were beginning to plunder the Spine of the World, desecrating nature and making animals flee. Against the wishes of his family, he decided to leave the tribe to fix the problems coming from the south. He also wished to understand more about Saint Aeron, whose grove was in the same direction.Almost instantly upon leaving Astrakhan, he encountered some raiders that were clearing out animal dens with the aim of building a new settlement. Ezra fought them and ended up in their custody.Knights of the GroveEzra was taken to the town of Brindell. There, an elf and viscount of the town named Godryn requested his aid. Along with him were Thalia and Sepchen, a powerful sorceress and skilled warrior respectively. Godryn needed them to figure out what his boss, Count Maeford, was up to with the Grove of Saint Aeron. The grove was a scared forest that sprouted after Saint Aeron’s final battle for the safety of the region. Ezra and the other three adventurers travelled to it and found that humans had been ordered to cut the grove down to construct a new town. The leader that was tasked with this action was Heather Fracy. Once Godryn was able to talk with her, the party discovered that Count Maeford tasked her with this. In this region, a count would become a duke if they had leadership over two or more towns. This new development would give him Brindell and this new settlement.Count Maeford was currently in Lancehall, the biggest city of the region and one he rarely left despite having obligations elsewhere. His actions were a clear power grab. The party decided to head there, but on the way, they were surrounded by wood elves riding dire panthers. These were guardians of the grove and they were not kind to intruders. They were brought to Uridian Fae, an obstinate old elf that saw the doom of the grove on the horizon and wanted to perform a powerful ritual to move the grove to the Feywild. His son Genric opposed this idea and instead wanted to embrace the rest of the world. He introduced Ezra to Lukian, the biggest elf in the grove. Since wood elves were already dedicated to nature, it was only natural for Lukian to introduce Ezra to the concept of an oath.Ezra already followed an oath without ever calling it that: protect the life and joy of all those who have it by stopping any force that would harm them. Lukian told Ezra that this oath he already had in his heart was the one that Saint Aeron and all the wood elves followed. With the light of a summer sunset twinkling over the great lake in the center of the grove, Ezra took the Oath of the Ancients and planted the seedling for what would one day become his own great oak tree.As a gift for this momentous occasion, the wood elves introduced Ezra to a young owlbear. Because of his size, Ezra could use it as a mount. He named this companion Screech. The final gift he received was a set of plate armor that was sized for Lukian, meaning it actually fit Ezra. With the new oath and gear, the friendly half-giant was ready to move on to Lancehall.Over the next few days of travel, Ezra used his ability to speak with animals to teach Screech some basic commands and learn more about the owlbear. They formed a powerful bond very quickly. Along the way, the party decided to name themselves the Knights of the Grove, given what they were fighting for. The Knights fought a creature from the Underdark and some corrupt guards that served Count Maeford, too.All of this brought them to Lancehall, where with some clever negotiating by Godryn, the Knights were able to gain an audience with Count Maeford. The goal was to talk him down from the destruction of the grove and find a new solution. Once they were seated in the grand hall and served food, though, things took a different direction.Ezra had thought the count might try to hurt them with the food, so he used his ability to detect poison. The food was clear of adulterants, but his spell revealed something else. Count Maeford himself was the very essence of poison. Ezra recalled on of Saint Aeron’s most critical stories: when he entered his final battle on the ground that would become the grove, the green dragon he fought was described as the very essence of poison. He also knew that dragons had the ability to shapeshift, which was what made them so dangerous.Ezra declared to his party and the count himself that Maeford was a dragon in disguise. With his cover blown, Maeford decided that enough was enough. He reverted to his base form, a giant adult green dragon. Godryn immediately ran to get the guards, assuming that the foe was too powerful. Ezra, Thalia, Sepchen, and Screech fought the threat head on. Thanks to good tactics, they were victorious and slayed the dragon. In a surprising turn of events, Ezra’s goal was complete. Heather Fracy would stop building a new town. He had had protected the grove, slayed a dragon like the heroes he read about, taken his oath, explored the world, and honored the wishes of Saint Aeron. After this battle, Ezra became very close with Sepchen. The fighter turned out to be the undead brother of Saint Aeron and was still unsure how to find out more about his forgotten past.Neither of them could forgive Godryn for abandoning the fight, and Thalia had important matters to attend to at her old sorcery school, so the party split. Godryn returned to Brindell to become the town’s new count. Ezra and Sepchen went to stay in the grove for a few months. The Knights of the Grove, in their short week together, had saved the region from a hidden dragon and saved the Grove of Saint Aeron.Moving Back NorthThe elders of the grove left for the Feywild with Uridian, leaving his son Genric as the leader of the younger generation left behind. Under his rule and with the help of Ezra and Sepchen, all raiders were expelled and the grove was secure. Ezra fully trained Screech and also trained in battle with Sepchen. Sepchen enrolled with the Lunari, a traveling faction based in the grove that fought for the same goals Ezra did. Ezra joined their expeditions sometimes, seeing all sorts of horrible monsters and wondrous sights. After months of this, the Lunari were going to move even further south to defend nature. Ezra took this as a sign that he needed to see his people back home. He had done so much and fulfilled his purpose of stopping the raiders around their village. He said goodbye to Sepchen, knowing they’d meet again one day, then mounted Screech and set off.He returned to Astrakhan and was lauded as a hero. The greatest achievement imaginable to his people was slaying a dragon, which is why Ezra was called Dragonslayer by most tribe members. His father and mother celebrated him for the first time in his life. While he was gone, the darkness originating from Icewind Dale had lifted. This allowed Ezra, with his newfound autonomy, to visit the other half-giant tribes. He needed to know more about the cultures of his people, separate from the isolationist and hostile views Astrakhan held. In time, he made many friends, and even managed to recruit some to take the Oath of the Ancients. As their leader, he knew what the exact next move was for the first time in his life. Many half-giants were taking laborious trips to surrounding areas for supplies. The main place they would go to was an area called Ten-Towns, as the darkness lifting allowed for a bustling metropolis to form. Ezra wanted to be a part of that growth, and remembering Heather Fracy brashly destroying a sacred forest in the name of growth, wanted to help regulate it.With his new band of half-giants in tow, he headed off to the hub of Ten-Towns: Termalaine. There, he and his half-giants offered to help the mayor with his efforts to grow the town in exchange for more of a relationship with the half-giants. The mayor quickly accepted the offer, having a way with words beyond anything Ezra had seen before. And he had seen Godryn negotiate his way out of deadly combat so many times!Beyond just Clifton’s words, Ezra saw the museum of the half-elf’s travels and read the stories. It reminded him of the great tales of Saint Aeron that he read as a kid. In front of him was not just a powerful bard and mayor of a major town. This was someone that would fight any threat to the living. Someone worth standing beside against the darkness. Someone to which Ezra could devote his life.
